Dr. Russell Brodie

Director

Dr. Russell G. Brodie is a senior academic executive with over twenty-five years of experience leading mission-driven institutions focused on student-centered, interdisciplinary, and experiential learning. He currently serves as Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Workforce Innovation, and Deputy Chief Academic Officer at Red Rocks Community College. In this executive role, he leads multi-campus initiatives, advising on academic strategy, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, and technology-enabled pathways.


Dr. Brodie joined the SOAR board to leverage his leadership in advancing equitable pathways for youth, aligning his expertise in governance, resource development, and community partnerships with SOAR’s mission to uplift adolescents. Throughout his career, he has championed global and field-based education, having worked across every continent, including stints in England, Italy, and China.


He holds degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University and earned his doctorate in global education from the University of Southern California. Dr. Brodie regularly presents internationally on leadership development and student success, driven by a commitment to serving historically marginalized communities.


In his free time, he enjoys traveling to new places around the world.
