SOAR Community Promise
Our Code of Care for Youth & Families
At SOAR (Seeing Our Adolescents Rise), we believe every young person and family deserves to feel safe, respected, supported, and empowered. This Community Promise explains what you can expect from us—and what helps us work best together.
Our work is guided by five core values: Strength, Healing, Equity, Growth, and Care.
Strength
We believe you are strong, capable, and full of potential.
You can expect SOAR to:
-
See your strengths—not just challenges or struggles.
-
Include your voice in decisions about your goals, services, and support.
-
Encourage confidence, leadership, and self-advocacy.
-
Support you in building skills for school, relationships, and life.
We ask youth and families to:
-
Share your goals, needs, and ideas openly.
-
Try your best, even when things feel hard.
Healing
We honor your story and believe healing looks different for everyone.
You can expect SOAR to:
-
Treat you with compassion, dignity, and respect at all times.
-
Use trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.
-
Respect your privacy and keep your information confidential, within the limits of safety and the law.
-
Create spaces where it’s okay to feel, talk, and grow at your own pace.
We ask youth and families to:
-
Be honest about what you’re experiencing.
-
Let us know when something doesn’t feel helpful or safe.
Equity
Everyone belongs here.
You can expect SOAR to:
-
Welcome and respect all identities, cultures, languages, and backgrounds.
-
Work to remove barriers so services are accessible and inclusive.
-
Listen when concerns about fairness, bias, or harm are raised.
-
Stand against discrimination, harassment, or exclusion.
We ask youth and families to:
-
Treat others in the SOAR community with respect.
-
Speak up if something feels unfair or hurtful.
Growth
We believe growth happens over time—and mistakes are part of learning.
You can expect SOAR to:
-
Help you set goals that matter to you.
-
Celebrate progress, big and small.
-
Adjust services as your needs change.
-
Learn alongside you and keep improving how we serve.
We ask youth and families to:
-
Stay engaged and communicate when goals or needs change.
-
Be open to feedback, reflection, and trying new approaches.
Care
We care about your well-being—and about each other.
You can expect SOAR to:
-
Provide a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.
-
Communicate clearly and professionally.
-
Care for physical, emotional, mental, and cultural well-being.
-
Leave people and spaces better than we found them.
We ask youth and families to:
-
Help maintain safe and respectful spaces.
-
Communicate needs, boundaries, and concerns as they arise.
Our Shared Commitment
At SOAR, we see youth and families as partners in this work. This Community Promise reflects our commitment to walk alongside you with respect, honesty, and care.
If you ever have questions, concerns, or feedback, we encourage you to talk with your SOAR team member or leadership. Your voice matters here.
Together, we rise.
Your Rights at SOAR
At SOAR, you have the right to:
-
Be treated with respect, dignity, and fairness.
-
Feel safe—physically, emotionally, and culturally—while receiving services.
-
Have your voice heard and included in decisions about your care.
-
Receive services that are trauma-informed and culturally responsive.
-
Ask questions and receive clear, honest information.
-
Have your privacy protected and your information kept confidential, within the limits of safety and the law.
-
Share feedback or concerns without fear of retaliation.
How to Share Concerns or Feedback
Your voice matters to us. If something does not feel right, or if you have feedback to share:
-
Talk with your SOAR team member (coach, clinician, or staff you work with).
-
Request to speak with a supervisor or program leader if you need additional support.
-
Reach out to SOAR leadership at any time if concerns are not resolved.
We take concerns seriously and will respond with care, respect, and attention. Our goal is always to ensure safety, trust, and healing for youth and families.
