Adventures in Action
SOAR’s mini-group activities are intentionally built to fold in prosocial skills like acceptance and belonging, relationships, self-care, and distress tolerance, as well as, resilience themes like connection and contribution. Adventures in Action shares the fun activities our clients experience and how it positively impacts their outlook.

July 2026
Youth Completing SOAR's programs
We kicked off the summer by celebrating a few of our youth graduating from SOAR’s programming. While tossing a football and having pizza, our youth were able to reflect on connecting more deeply with their own sense of self growth, as well as how they might apply the things they’ve learned to connect better with peers in the future. We are so proud to see their life matriculation!
The Wiffle Ball and Volleyball Group
Next up to get outside was the Wiffle Ball and Volleyball group! Both sports provide youth with an opportunity to learn how they could feel more competent and contribute to the whole group as they found their own unique role in the game. This was something new and challenging for the group that demonstrated the fun in connecting with others and being an active participant over winning or losing.
Poetic Reflections
With Art from Ashes, our mini-group explored connection and confidence by writing and presenting poetry. Our group’s poetic reflection on childhood voice, ventilation, and feeling heard laid the foundation for them to explore deep emotions and pattern recognition. In presenting, they found confidence and ability to do difficult things even if it made them nervous at first.
